With Christmas fast approaching, it can be a time when people tend to take their foot off the gas a little when it comes to health and fitness. However for the group of people that took part in our Autumn 60 day challenge, easing off just wasn’t an option.
Of the three challenges a year that we do, this is probably the most difficult. The post Christmas one sees an influx of people all focused on new year goals; the pre-Summer one has people targeting that beach body, whereas Autumn it really was about knuckling down and getting on with things just as the nights start to get dark earlier and the weather gets a bit colder.
If you’re focused on your own personal goals, none of the external factors mentioned above matter, and this is what we saw with many of our latest challengers. Being prepared to change, listen and take on board new ideas really is key to succeeding when taking on the challenge. We had some excellent results yet again and here are the challenge highlights and results.
As a group we shifted over 70kg!!!
Biggest weight loss (female): Heather – 9kg
Highest body fat reduction: Clare – 5.1%, Ember – 5.8%
Overall weight loss and challenge winner: Mathew – 17kg
Fastest 400m run: Mathew – 1.15, Ember – 1.32
Most reps: Mathew – 159, Carly – 146
Overall most improved and challenge winner: Gaynor
Gaynor saw her reps increase by 63 and she also took 70 seconds off her run!!
Everyone improved in every single area, a stat that has continued in every challenge we’ve ever done. We know the road isn’t always smooth for all taking part but that is life, it’s about overcoming obstacles and learning from things. The challenge is never easy but I think everyone knows that you only get out what you put in effort wise.
Keep your eyes peeled for start date of our January 2018 challenge, which will be announced very soon!
On Saturday Dec 2nd we had our annual Christmas social. Thanks to all that attended and helped to make it an awesome night! It was great to unwind after a tough year of training on the sand!
Bootcamper of the year was Jason (male) and Carol (female). Carly picked up most improved for continuing to push on over the year and there was some thank you gifts for Rebecca, Lee and Jason for their help through the year, that really is appreciated and allows Llanelli Beach Bootcamp to function as it does!
