A world wide pandemic has put a spanner in the works for many people, and in more ways than one. It has however given many people the time to evaluate the world we live in and the way in which we spend our precious time. Many have discovered what is important to them. It has given many the opportunity to address their way of life. And one thing is for certain the benefits of physical and mental health have really been highlighted.

Here at Llanelli Beach Bootcamp it has been a difficult period to navigate but after we escaped the first lockdown it allowed us a period of time in which we could hold sessions with a maximum capacity of 30. We were blessed with weeks of sunshine and sweaty sessions down at Machynys Bay. During that period we managed to run our second 60 day challenge of the year. It was great to welcome some new and returning faces to bootcamp.

We had another fantastic group for the 60 Day Challenge. As we have said time and time again, it’s the people that make the challenge what it is. When a collective of people come together, there is no limit to what they can achieve. Hard work, commitment and most importantly, discipline while working out and with healthy meals cooked in the kitchen.

Fastest 400m – Victoria Conway (1.49)
Biggest Run Improvement – Kirsty Jones (40 seconds)
Most Reps Total – Crystal Dee Brown (131 reps)
Most Reps Gainged – Vincenza Butchers (42 reps)

Kirsty Jones

1st Crystal Dee Brown 11kg
2nd Kirsty Jones (8kg)
3rd Sian Phillips and Vincenza Butchers (6kg)

Crystal and Kirsty both won a free month of bootcamp for biggest weight loss and most improved fitness respectively. However everyone who joined the 60 Day Challene was a winner due to a huge effort all round meaning that everyone reaped the benefits. The meals and food eaten during the challenge were amazing from day 1 to day 60. I’m sure we could quite easily write a bootcamp cook book with the meals created from the recipes. They all looked outstanding!

We are currently back running our sessions online due to the firebreak here in Wales, but we are looking forward to seeing you all next week when we return to the bay. Even though we are going into shorter days and colder nights we will still be running bootcamps every Friday (under the spotlights) and Sunday plus a sprints session every Wednesday. You’re welcome to join us so do get in touch for more details.
